Lucky Streak

Went Brewrekz yesterday night to chill with sec sch friends. Many thanks to those who last minute pull out. You all are the best. You know who you are. Going to ban you all for the next few outings. Lol. Saw Shun Yi working there. Didn't know she has been working there for 2 years. What a surprise. The rest went MOS after the chill out while I chose to play MJ with my friends. Don't really feel like clubbing yesterday though.

Luckily I went for the MJ session because I am on a winning streak. Just ask them. Biggest winner that night with about 40 bucks winnings. Have been clubbing and playing MJ almost every week since the start of intern. I wonder if this is the typical life of those working people? I got to control myself. At least I still throw in gym and some exercises during the week, so I guess my lifestyle is not that unhealthy as it may seems.

Think I will drop by the PC fair later. I have a EE3001 group dinner cum celebration at suntec too. All thanks to my brilliant leadership, haha ok I must admit the whole group really put in a lot of effort too. Thanks to them too.

To Get Unstuck In Time

Brilliant plot. Great acting. Touching.

This is a latest HK drama being aired on television. It is a 2004 production though.

Nonetheless, I was attracted to its plot where a son communicates with his dad from 20 years ago through a phone the latter left for him. Watching the series from crunchyroll.com now and I must say it is really a great show. Catch it if you can. You will definitely be touched to tears in some of the episodes.

Results

Before I go out to have a drink with my JC friends, just want to let those who happen to drop by here know that I have gotten my results. The best semester so far. And you can co-relate this to staying in hall? Or maybe when you are desperate for cap points, Heaven will just drop some to you? Anyway, it still falls a little short of my expectation but good job nonetheless for coming close.

I will enjoy myself a little bit then.

And maybe I really need to find a hall to stay in order to do well. Thinking...

Enough is Enough

I stare at the monitor for quite a while, thinking of what to write.

Work? Too boring.

Pimple on my left eyelid? Why the heck would you want to know right. Anyway, waiting for it to "ripe" can be a very torturous task.

My thumb drive? It is dead. I got a new 1GB one for 20 bucks at SLQ.

Well, my life now is quite repetitive. Weekdays I work. Weekends I will definitely do some of these tasks: Mahjong, gym, running, swimming, drinking, clubbing, meeting up friends etc.

Depending on the activities I have, I will try to pack as many tasks as possible within the 2 days. Of course some of the tasks I can do it after work during the weekdays.

Usually I swim or run one of the weekdays. Trying to swim 20 laps at a faster rate now. Currently I can do it under 40 minutes. Ok, I know that is slow, but swimming isn't really my forte to begin with. After improving my speed, I will go for 30 laps to improve my stamina. I really think that to improve something you are really weak in, the best way is to practice. Practice lots and lots of times.

I would like to try something new this holiday. Maybe a new sport or something. Just different. Learn a new skill perhaps. Doesn't matter. Just something new.

Sometimes when you look back in life, you might regret not leading your life a little more meaningful when you could.

Now, you might tell yourself: No ah.. I am happy. I am fine with my life now.

No doubt about that. However, have you thought about how your life could have changed if you would just deviate a little from the usual path. Experiment with new things. Explore new worlds.

Enough is enough. Just be on a lookout for new changes along your way of life.

You only have one life. Live it to the greatest.

Clean Room

Yesterday I spent my record time in the clean room since the start of the internship. And I was dealing with some chemical called acetone. It is a solvent used to etch or get rid of certain material. Now, the thing is I feel drowsy after yesterday's work. In fact, I came home, swallow a pandanol and sleep at 9 plus. The effects are still evident today, though not so bad compared to yesterday's night. I went to check on the chemical and true enough one of the effects is drowsiness. Oh man, now I am going to be extra careful when handling the acetone.

I am starting to get sick of going into the clean room already. Everyday. Sianz..... I can't imagine my career working inside all day long. I will definitely turn into a clean freak by then. Hoho..

Then I am trying to learn a Cantonese song now. It is damn hard la. Think harder than learning C++. All right, maybe because I try to memorise instead of understanding the characters. Anyway it is just for fun because there are a few nice canto songs which I like and would like to be able to sing it.

And I think I am turning gay. I rather stay at home to watch anime than ask gals to go out, go out with my buddies than on dates, no desire to message anyone (gals in particular) out.

But wait, I think I am still normal.

The thought of kissing a guy just flashes past my mind. Hmm.. gals are better ultimately I suppose.

Tribute

Met up with my primary school teacher last sat. Had a good chat with him. I realised time really flies. The meeting with him also makes me think deeper into what I really want to achieve in life. What kind of life do I want? I know I have a vague idea. I thought I have been goal oriented all these while. Deep inside me I really don't know what I want. When I look at myself, not in the morning when I woke up, but rather in a self reflection sense, I feel lost. Maybe I just want to resist the transition into another stage of my life. Uncertainty. That's naive.

I once learn this: to achieve your goal, you need lots of massive actions.

Take the first step. The journey begins from there.

Or has it already began?

Problem Solved

Ok, thanks to ch finally found a way to get pass the blogspot problem. And he has to leave tammy's blog on my tag. Now, I have been tammy-nated. But thanks to her, I managed to solve the problem.

Yea, I suppose I can get back to my usual blogging now. Actually I have got some things to blog for the past week, but I could not due to the problem. And I am sian of recalling what I wanted to blog about.

I just damaged my thumb drive. And it is my fault I know. Sorry thumb drive. Wat an idiot I am.. Have to get a new one now. Luckily the price has drop quite a lot now.

I know I am quite a clean freak, maybe that's why I have to go to the clean room every working day now. Retribution? Haha.. what goes around comes around. And who said this to me:"At least it is clean"? How true can it get...

2nd Week Of Work

I know why I can't blog for the past one week already. It might have to do with the server which I am using. I am now using the computer in my internship to write a short entry. This is the second week of my internship. Everything has been fine so far, going into the clean room everyday to do some lab. Otherwise I will be using the computer to do some "research".

We cannot use msn during work so don't expect me to be online during office hours. In a way I think this is good. Msn is definitely a waste of time when you want to be productive. However, I think I can still download some games to play if I really want to.

Now, weekends are quite precious to me. That's the only time I am able to fully relax my mind and enjoy myself. I finally understand a little bit of how those full time working class people feel. Waking up and sleeping early is now the hobson's choice of my life.

I hope I can blog from home soon. Blogging from my workplace isn't that comfortable after all. It just feels so strange.

Ok, got to run now for some training. Hopefully I can write more soon.

First day of intern

I am very tired now, after a long day of work. I am going to write an entry before I zonk out. My intern is in ASTAR Data Storage Institute in NUS. Today is my first day of work. Morning was just all the paper work and some introduction. Afternoon went into the clean room for a while to familiarize with the environment. I will be going in quite often. Other than all these, most of the time is spent reading books given by my supervisor, but you know, dozing off seems more of the actual work done.

During lunch time, went to buy mixed vegetables rice.

Me: Auntie, add rice and eating here. (In mandarin)

Auntie: Ok, xiao di your hair very nice leh.

Me: Thanks ah auntie, they are standing tall.

Auntie: (Laughs) Ya, very nice.

Me: Yup, it is the fad now you know.

Auntie: Ya I know, my son has that hair style too.

Me: (Thought to myself) Don't think he look just as good right?


All right, I got the photos for the sec sch outing already. But I thought since most of my readers are from my sec sch, I will just direct them to hy's blog here. She wrote an entry on that night and posted most of the pictures. So those interested can have a look there.

Just lazy to post ok. Haha.

I will write another conservation I had with sc the other day on msn:

Me: Eh sc, I heard you have a new bf. How come so fast? How you know him?

Sc: Friend's friend. Ya lo very fast. Dunnoe why.

Me: Hmm.. so what kind of person is he?

Sc: Well.. he is very caring and makes me laugh.

Me: Oic.. I also very caring and I can make you laugh too you know?

Sc: Haha.. ya you just did.

Me: Haha, so what? You mean if I chased you before I will get a chance?

Sc: You chased alr then you will know ma. Now no more chance alr.

Moved out of my hall yesterday. Yea, that's it.

Enough memories for me I guess. Made some great friends.

But I will be back.

Went out with sec clique at night too. Will write more when I get the photos from hy.

Have been reading this book by Scott Adam for the past few days. A really nice book to read especially if you are looking for some good laughs.

An extract:

Make sure you work in a group of losers. Losers are the ones who will get low raises, thus leaving ample budget funds for you. The worst mistakes you could make is to work in a group of highly qualified people. That's a no-win situation for all of you. Losers are your friends. If you don't have any losers in your group, help your boss recruit some, preferably in areas that don't affect your life.
