06 Outing


Just had an outing with my first three months JC class 06. It is amazing how we can still manage to keep in contact even though many of us have gone our own ways. Really nice to meet so many of them today. Had lunch at Vila'ge and then KTV at party world. Think all of us enjoyed ourselves. We even agreed to meet this Wednesday at Zouk. Mambo time.

This weekend is so busy. I have hardly any time to do the things I wanted to do.

Last week of my internship. Wow, time flies.

An Important Day


Today is a very important day. Let me tell you why.


Firstly, it is my mum's birthday. We got a cake for her and I am waiting for the rest to come back and then we can cut then cake together. I wanted to bring her out for dinner but weiming is in reservist and weibin is out learning diving. Hence, we have to wait till they are back. I mean my dad and weibin will be back soon I hope so.


I remembered I went out on this very day two years ago, with dawn on our first date. And I actually missed the cake cutting session held at home. I didn't know they are going to buy one, but I felt remorseful after that year. So I tell myself I am not going to miss again unnecessarily.


Another reason why this is an important day is because I made a big decision. I signed a contract with SSMC this afternoon. This guarantees me a job after I have graduated. The bond is one year and I will not reveal how much I am getting paid here. It is not much anyway, so don't ask me for a treat please. Lol.


The good thing about this agreement is that if I break the bond, I just have to pay back whatever they have given me and nothing more. I think it is a pretty good deal since I am quite interested in working in this field anyway after I graduate.


The last reason for this day being an important one is a secret. Not important I would say, maybe happy? Hmm... I don't want to say too much Spanish here.


I am always a cheerful person. Not much sad things to share around here. I think sad things are easier to write about. Words can just flow out describing how I feel. More agitated. More passion.


On the other hand, I feel that happy things are quite hard to write it here. It is just like listing it and that's it. Yup, so I think my blog is a bit boring. I will try to write with more passion.


And I am still reading Harry Potter. Have not finish it yet. I don't even want to read today's LIFE which gives an analysis on the book. Spoilers man.

A New Member


I am not sure if you have seen the Samsung LCD TV commercial. I think you would have. It is pretty popular during the world cup season and even until now.


There are a few versions of the advertisement like one where a neighbour asked him to help him look after his house and he agreed after seeing the LCD TV. And he went on to hold parties in the house and everyone just envied him for having such a cool TV.


I used to think: is that TV really that cool?


All right, now I have the chance to find out.

A 32 inch Samsung LCD TV. I haven't got the chance to actually find out how cool it is. But judging from its appearances, it certainly look great.

Decisions


In life, you make a lot of decisions. Some are good ones while others make you regret for life. So how to you ensure that you have come up with the best decision?


I can tell you it is not easy at all. A lot of factors you have to consider and in the end, if you are still clueless about what you should do, there is always the universal solution: follow your heart. More often than not, this method seems to be a suicidal one, often leading you to the end of the road. Perhaps it is just me, your feel might be more accurate than mine. Nonetheless, people still follow their heart even if they are unsure of what it is to come. Why? Maybe, no matter what they outcome, they can at least say that: I never regret, this is what I would have done if given another chance. Are you sure???


Anyway, why am I talking about all these? Do not be mistaken that I am having some problems in relationships or whatsoever. There aren't any for me to worry about and if there are, I can handle them pretty well, at least that's how I think.


When it comes to buying things, I always think twice. Thanks to some of the bad buys I have had in the past. I am sure you come across this situation. You thought that shirt or pants is a damn good buy, but after wearing it for one or two times, your opinion changes. And you condemn that item into the deepest end of your wardrobe. Something like that sure happens. So please, especially gals, think a little bit more before you buy stuffs ok?


And I tell you, it applies to relationship as well. Frankly, I can't stand people who gets into one just for the sake of getting into one. I mean, you could be hurting the other party in the end you know? All right, if both parties are not serious, then perhaps you can't really say who is not committed or serious about it, because there is none to begin with. I also admit, it is hard to define how serious you should be when it comes to this. You might just want to try it out with the person, maybe it could work out? Then, possibly, the accusation is a bit too harsh. It is a grey area anyway. Whatever it is, try not to be a player or someone you know will end up hurting the other person. I emphasize again, try. I know it is hard.


Decisions, decisions, decisions. It is all up to you.

Excited - FYP


I just met up with my FYP supervisor today. I cannot believe he said he remembers my face in his class last semester. That's for turning up most of his lectures I guess.


I am quite excited about my project after talking to him. Like what he said, I think I am quite lucky to get this project because they just had some breakthrough few months ago. Looks like this project has a lot of potential. And more importantly, it seems very interesting indeed. Looking forward to starting my FYP. Or maybe the journey has already began...


Met up with jo for supper or rather a late dinner, finally, after saying that we will meet up at our hometown for so many times.


And now, back at home. Tired and exhausted. Actually I would have gone out if someone ask me. It is Friday night after all...

New Thoughts


Weeli just came back from US after spending one year in NOC. Met up with him for lunch yesterday. He didn't change much physically. But his way of thinking changed quite a bit. For the better of course. He shared with me some of his experiences over there and I must said I learned quite a bit just by talking to him. Thanks for introducing those few websites. Will take a while to look through them.


VIP is coming to an end soon. Next Wednesday will be the final presentation. After which I have another week there to slack hopefully.


And ya, I will be meeting my FYP supervisor this Friday for the first time. I mean I have seen him before for one of my module, but this time round the status is different. Going to do some reading before seeing him. I have a feeling I am going to be really busy when the school starts. I am also contemplating whether to take an extra module for learning purpose, most likely will S/U it. Shall see how it goes.

FYP

Finally got the results of my FYP selection. Got my first choice. Not sure if this is a good thing because I think my supervisor is quite onz those kind. Hiaz, can't be changed now anyway.


Next week will be my VIP presentation. After that, I have one more week with DSI. Should be able to slack for that week I guess.


Have to start planning my time table for the coming semester. I am only going to take 3 modules plus my FYP. Only one of the modules I have not yet decide. So I guess it will be easier to plan this time round.


Argh... and I don't what I want at all. This is suppose to be Spanish, so you will not understand what I am saying.

Friday The Thirteen


Today is the well known unlucky day. So how's your day so far?


Anyway, for my last post, if you cannot understand it is ok. They are supposedly written in Spanish. If you know what they mean, then something is wrong.


For me, I think I am getting sick soon. Running nose and my throat isn't feeling so well. Hopefully by tomorrow, I will become better. I have quite a lot of things to do this weekend, please don't let me fall sick.

Commencement


I thought they used to call it convocation?

Anyway, went to my brother's commencement this afternoon. I missed wb's one few years ago, so this is my first time to such an event.

Anyway, I think commencement is like ORD parade. I don't know, maybe like a prom night as well? It is all about taking pictures with that robe. Oh man, do you even feel comfortable wearing it?


And out of the maybe one hour or so in the hall, all your family gets a bit excited is that few seconds you are on stage. At least I have a few friends in the faculty who are graduating too, so not too boring on the whole.

The Lake House

Remember I wrote about the HK drama series "To Get Unstuck In Time" the other time? I saw another 2006 movie "The Lake House" with a concept related to time yesterday. Coincidentally, I have seen the Korean version "Il Mare" long time before. That's why I find the plot so familiar when I was viewing The Lake House.


Anyway, for those who are not so sure about the movie, click here. It is about a couple who unites through a mailbox which can deliver letters across a time span of 2 years. Keanu Reeves in 2004 and Sandra Bullock in 2006. A romantic show, simple and touching at certain times.


Liked the part when Sandra Bullock send a copy of Keanu's dad's memoir to him on the day the latter died. The memoir was not published at the point of time 2004, but Sandra Bullock wanted to do something to cheer Keanu up when she found out the day his dad passed away. The scene where Keanu received the memoir and recalled his memories with his dad was exceptionally touching. A simple gesture, tremendous meaning.


The ending was nice too. The twist came when the guy who died on Valentine's day was actually Keanu. Sorry you got to see the movie to know what I am talking about here. Would you wait 2 years for someone? They took 4 years to finally get together. If you loved someone so much, maybe you will.


All right, side track a bit. Went out with the guys yesterday night too: weili, tong dee, andy, yiwen and julius. It is truly a "single guys" outing. 3 broke up this year, 2 reached dead ends in their pursuit for happiness and me, I am turning gay as I have mention before(if you believe me).


It was a nice small gathering. Drank at boat quay, supper at prata shop. Talked about cars and bikes. I have noticed that as we ages, the topics we talked about changes. Haha, I guess that's part of growing up. Oh man, we feel old now haven't we?


Lol, I think I can still deceive people with my looks. So at least not too bad la....

Updates

Hi all, time for some updates. I notice that when I view my blog using internet explorer, some of the new lines when I typed my entries were not reflected. This is because I have been using firefox all these while. Therefore, I am going to use internet explorer to write my this entry and see how is it.

Just came back from the Ang Clan dinner. The scholarship is not too bad. Just say that it is about my entrie vip pay. Good money for a short speech given just like that. Lol. All right, I don't want to talk more in case people start asking me to give treats here and there.

Recently, I have started playing DOTA. Yes, I know I told myself not to start it because it can be really addictive. Too bad, many people from my workplace are playing it. I need to socialise with them so that I will not become an outcast. Hehe.. excuses. Nothing to do ma.

MILK Run

Let me talk a bit on the Mainly I Love Kids Run on Sunday.

Lots of kids around. That's the problem. Me and zr have a hard time trying to run because there were simply too many kids around. We had to cut and squeeze our way through them. Not a very good event to run I would say. But for the sake of fund raising, it is still a trip worth going down for.

I must still complain about the organiser though. It took us about half an hour just to queue and get our bags back. The way they keep our bags, in bigger bags, prove to be very inefficient as it took them a very long time to search and find each person's bag. Maybe it is due to the lack of space and manpower allocated to them. It just seems not up to standard like the SC Marathon.


Met the CDO badminton team at night to celebrate boony's bdae. Must really thank him for treating us to the dinner at Sakae and the drinks at Paulander.

Transformers

The wait is finally over! Some of you might have already seen the movie like I just did with hy, ch and sj. This is a must see movie for the year I am telling you. I am willing to see it again in the cinema. Yes, that is how awesome it is.

This is really a great show I have seen in many years. I am looking forward to Die Hard 4 and Harry Potter. Hope they will just be as nice.
