Europe 2008 - Venice
Venice (Italian: Venezia, Venetian: Venezsia) is a city in northern Italy, the capital of region Veneto, and has a population of 271,251 (census estimate January 1, 2004). Together with Padua, the city is included in the Padua-Venice Metropolitan Area (population 1,600,000). Venice has been known as the "La Dominante", "Serenissima", "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Bridges", and "The City of Light". It is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It was freaking hot when we were there. Hardly any clouds in the sky. A first taste of summer I reckon? Who is that pretty boy wearing shades in the photo? On the poster I mean.  Surrounded by waters, the main form of transport around Venice is by boat. You can walk too. Juat that it might be a bit far for certain places.  Venice is definitely a beautiful city. The most expensive city in Italy too. Cost us quite a bit.       The night view of Venice is especially beautiful.   I think it is a good place for honeymoon if you have the money. Spend at least a week there to enjoy the city throughly. TOP OF PAGE |
